Use the checklist as a conversation starter rather than a scoring system. The highest-value issues are usually the ones that repeat across navigation, content hierarchy, conversion paths and mobile behavior, because fixing those patterns improves more than one screen at a time.
01 — Clarity
- Can a first-time visitor understand what the company does in one screen?
- Does every section have one dominant idea?
- Are headings specific enough to stand alone?
- Does the page show proof near major claims?
02 — Navigation
- Are primary paths visible without opening a menu?
- Does navigation language match user intent?
- Are active states and hover/focus states clear?
03 — Conversion
- Does each page have a clear next action?
- Are calls to action specific to the context?
- Are forms asking only for information needed at this stage?
04 — Accessibility
- Can all interactive elements be reached with a keyboard?
- Is reduced-motion preference respected?
- Is contrast strong enough across states?
